World Food Day Celebration 2024

On the occasion of World Food Day, CREATE, in association with Mohammed Sathak Women’s Arts and Science College, Ramanathapuram, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), the District Supply Office (DSO), the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), the Regional Office of the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation, Ramanathapuram, and the Consumer Association, Keelakarai, organized a World Food Day celebration on October 17, 2024, in the college auditorium. Over 300 students, lecturers, consumer activists, and government officials participated in the program.

Prof. Dr. P. Duraisingam, Chairman of CREATE, emphasized the importance of traditional organic foods, highlighting their medicinal properties and the nutritional benefits of unpolished rice and millets. Dr. G. Vijayakumar of FSSAI inaugurated the Traditional Food Exhibition, which showcased traditional dishes prepared by various Home Science colleges in Ramanathapuram District. Mr. M. Elangovan, the District Supply Officer of Ramanathapuram, presented awards to colleges for the best traditional recipes prepared.
